Al Azhar Arabic course … Al-Azhar is one of the oldest educational institutions in Islamic and human history. Al-Azhar has played a major pioneering role in spreading Islam and the Arabic language throughout the world. For centuries, hundreds of scholars from around the world set out from Al-Azhar to spread Islam and teach the Arabic language, and every year it witnesses a continuous flow of thousands of students from all over the world to this great institution.

The program aims to provide the student with a rich linguistic base in the Arabic language in all its branches, especially letters and their pronunciation, grammar, and to teach the student Arabic culture by studying Arab poetic and prose texts, some of which date back to the pre-Islamic era. The student studies these courses to gain sufficient scientific experience to understand the Qur’an and Islamic Sharia sciences, such as the science of the Prophet’s hadith. These goals greatly assist in cultural exchange and civilization among peoples.
Program Content and Teaching Methods
The program offers several graded levels to facilitate the educational content for the student. It also seeks to focus on basic language learning skills such as
Listening: via audio clips and audio texts.
Conversation: between the student and the professor, and between students and each other.
Reading: reading religious texts, such as the Quran.
Writing: starting with the simplest topics, such as functional expression, and progressing to essays.
All of this, as mentioned, is accompanied by an intensive study of linguistic rules (grammar and morphology).
The student gains this unique experience through interactive classes with specialized professors, the use of audio-visual media, and participation in interesting language activities such as seminars, cultural visits, and Arabic calligraphy workshops.
Some Challenges
There will be some challenges during the initial phase of studying Modern Standard Arabic due to differences in language and educational backgrounds. However, the center strives to overcome these challenges as much as possible to provide students with an enjoyable and unique learning experience.
