  • IGCSE Egypt University requirements … The student must have completed eight subjects at the Ordinary Level (OL), the Advanced Supplementary Level (A.S. Level), or the Advanced Level, as long as he does not repeat any of them and makes sure the subjects are acceptable for admission to each college.

  1. All subjects must have been studied on the Extended system and not on the Core system, with proof of this being provided.
  2. The student must submit the results of a maximum of five exams from among the exams he took in the last three academic years before applying to the coordination office. The calculation of the three years will be based on the academic year (a composite year). 
  • If a student applies to join one of the colleges of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, or nursing, he must succeed in the following:
  • Advanced level biology or two Advanced Supplementary Level (A.S. Level) topics, one of which is biology and the other one of the following disciplines: mathematics, chemistry, or physics, with a minimum grade of a D. The following topics need to be studied for OL-level courses: physics, chemistry, biology mathematics, and English.
  •  If a student applies to join one of the colleges (Engineering, Computers and Information, Fine Arts, “Architecture,” or Urban Planning), he must succeed in the following

Mathematics at the advanced level with a grade of no less than (D). – Or two Advanced Supplementary Level subjects (A.S. Level), one of which is mathematics and the other is among the subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Accounting) with a grade of no less than (D). For OL-level subjects, the following subjects must be studied: English—Mathematics—Physics—Chemistry.

Other IGCSE Egypt University Requirements

  •  Faculties (Arts, Law, Economics and Political Science, Commerce, Commerce and Business Administration, Media,  Antiquities, Al-Alsun) English must be studied in addition to 7 subjects from this group: History – Geography – German – French – Spanish – Physics – Chemistry – Biology – Human Biology – Business Studies – Environmental Management – ​​Travel & Tourism – Accounting – Economics – Sociology – Psychology – Thinking Skills – Drama – Art & Design – Global Perspectives ICT: Computer Science 
  • For the Faculty of Arts, Languages, and Education, Literary Sections, the student must have studied English in addition to one of the two subjects of French-German and obtained a grade of B or 5 at least, in addition to the rest of the required subjects.
  • Faculty of Law: Study of French is required
  • Faculty of Arts and Literary Sections in Faculties of Education and Girls’ College (Arts): Study of French or German is required
  • * In the event that the student applies to join the Faculty of Science, he must succeed in the following:

OL-level subjects The following subjects must be studied: English – Mathematics – Biology – Chemistry – Physics in addition to the rest of the subjects to complete 8 IGCSE subjects.

Colleges that require the student to pass the aptitude test:

  • College of Fine Arts
  • College of Applied Arts
  • College of Music Education
  • College of Tourism and Hotels.

Important Notes:

The Arabic language subject can be counted among the eight required subjects if the student studied it in the secondary school certificate as a complementary subject among the eight subjects if the student studied it at one of the three levels: Arabic as First Language Arabic AS/AL Arabic OL Cambridge The information and communication technology subject is considered a different subject from the computer science subject in general, meaning that if the student combines the two subjects, they are counted together among the eight required subjects.

Biology is counted as a basic subject for admission to medical sector colleges in Egyptian universities, and human biology can be counted as a complementary subject to the eight required subjects.

The student can combine the two subjects in the certificate, provided that Biology is counted as a basic subject and human biology as a complementary subject.

English Literature is an alternative subject to the English language subject and is counted as a basic subject in the event that the student does not study the English language subject, and they can be counted together among the eight required subjects.
